Our Vantaa Ski Club camp in Imatra went very well.
From first snow to summer training
Ukonniemi brings together early-season snow, roller skiing and supporting training facilities. At Saimaa LIFE & LIGHT, a kitchen, your own washing machine and separate bedrooms support days with several training sessions.
First-snow track 2026
The city has announced opening on 14 October 2026 with approximately 2.3 km. The full track is around 4.2 km: a further 1.1 km is planned for late November and a 0.8 km stadium loop for the end of November, weather permitting. Lighting: 06:00–22:00. Starting point: Ottelukatu 11, Imatra. Check open sections, conditions and ski passes before your camp.
Roller skiing and ski service
The snow-free season offers a 3.5 km roller-ski track. Ventilated waxing cabins can be rented at the stadium, and Saimaa Sport provides ski servicing. Reserve your required service space separately. In your accommodation enquiry, include meal times, room allocation and the structure of your training days.
Shooting range and camp planning
Ukonniemi Stadium has 30 shooting lanes with an automatic Kurvinen Biathlon Targets system. The city asks for camp and group reservations at least 14 days before arrival. Confirm range slots, target fees and operating rules separately.
Ukonniemi first-snow track
The range also serves biathletes during the first-snow season. The announced 2026 track opening is 14 October with about 2.3 km; the full approximately 4.2 km network opens in stages depending on conditions. Lighting is 06:00–22:00; the starting point is Ottelukatu 11. Plan ski and shooting sessions around the open track sections and confirmed range slots.
Athletes, coaches and support staff
The roller-ski track supports camps outside the snow season. We plan apartment allocation, separate beds and meal times around your programme. Your own laundry and kitchen simplify camp routines; LIFE has private saunas and LIGHT has drying cabinets. Include your support staff’s space requirements when requesting a proposal.
25 apartments in 8 types, from 44 to 103 m². One to three bedrooms, a private kitchen, washing machine and terrace or balcony. Every apartment has a sauna. We match the bed layout to your group size and need for privacy.
